Claire Hardy

"Adagio"

May 27 - July 8

Opening reception is Friday, May 27, 6-9 p.m.

The word adagio is used in music as a direction for tempo, meaning to play gracefully, leisurely, and slowly.

Watercolors Gallery features recent works by oil painter Claire Hardy. Among these include still lifes with musical instruments.

Claire Hardy has been drawing since she childhood but didn't attempt painting until attending college. When she and her husband moved from the Southwest to Sewickley in 2001, they set up a studio. Having space to paint daily has been instrumental in developing her skill in painting. She brings fresh colors and compositions to traditional still life oil painting.

Giving herself over to her dream of painting has not only enriched her life but has also inspired others. She continues to meet others who have put off painting but still feel a desire to paint.
